During the vietnam war the youth were asking "why am I old enough to go to war and possibly die for my country but not be able to vote!!" Finally, the age requirement was changed to 18. When I turned 18 I immediately registered to vote. since then I have voted in EVERY election (Federal, State, Local) except for one time, when I had moved to a new address and did not register in time for the local election.
